entrinsic Bioscience combines its proprietary IP platform and discovery engine to deliver next generation functional ingredients and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) with transformational health benefits

Leveraging the Body’s Natural Processes to Achieve Superior Health Outcomes

Epithelial tissue is ubiquitous in the body and is made up of cells with specific mechanisms of action (MOAs) including:

1. Absorption ⇒ The uptake of fluids & nutrients

2. Secretion ⇒ The transfer of fluids and nutrients

3. Barrier Function ⇒ The regulation of natural organ barriers to protect against pathogen infiltration and subsequent inflammation

4. Proliferation Restoration and/or regeneration of damaged or dysfunctional cells

• Many diseases and disorders are caused when proteins that play a role in these MOAs become dysregulated

• Natural pathways for amino acids to modulate cell function exist

• Our platform leverages these existing pathways; specifically, EBS uses patented amino acid formulations as targeted cell signalers to protect and restore epithelial protein (and tissue) functionality.

Epithelial tissue is ubiquitous in the body and is made up of cells with specific mechanisms of action (MOAs) including:

Platforms Led by Nature & Based on Validated Science

Amino acids are responsible for all cell function, but their full potential to improve human health has been untapped…until now.

EBS’ proprietary platform combines biomapping and electrophysiology to uncover precise combinations of amino acids, the body’s natural cell communicators.

We are the first to discover these precise combinations of amino acids act as cell signalers to modulate transport proteins resulting in improved cellular function, which translates to improved health.

Biomapping

Transmembrane proteins within epithelial tissues become dysregulated by disease (congenital) and other stressors (acquired). An example is the dysregulated CFTR transmembrane protein (ion channel) in cystic fibrosis. Transmembrane proteins (like CFTR) become natural targets for drugs and small molecule modulation.

Our scientific platform is based on using elemental amino acids to signal cells to modulate transmembrane protein expression and function in the direction of restorative health. We use our two-step biomapping procedure to: 1) ‘map’ the dysregulated proteins to their disease state (e.g., CFTR in cystic fibrosis). 2) CFTR then becomes our amino acid screening target and we ‘map’ the functional selectivity of amino acids to their potential to restore CFTR function. Functional selectivity refers to the “selective” effects for amino acids to increase or decrease protein expression and “function”, i.e. Absorption, Secretion, Barrier Function and Proliferation.

Once candidate amino acids are identified, a variety of functional tissue tests are performed using those amino acids. Mathematical modeling using proprietary algorithms are also employed to determine which combinations and concentrations of elemental amino acids restore tissue function the best. From this procedure a candidate formula is born for in vivo testing. Our amino acid screening process and selection criteria result in more than 360,000 candidate formulas – all of which are patent-protected. Our use of patented amino acid combinations as cell signaling molecules is what sets us apart from the rest.

Synergistic R&D Process Simultaneously Identifies Multiple Amino Acid Formulations with Distinct Health and Wellness Applications

Our proprietary biomapping for protein modulation screening and our library of patented formulations efficiently creates multiple innovation streams:

1. We identify amino acids that both up and down regulate targeted proteins.

2. For example, the discovery work to regulate the CFTR protein simultaneously led to applications for diarrhea (via down-regulation) and the opposite condition, constipation (via up-regulation).

3. In addition, the same proteins may have impact in multiple health and wellness self-care applications, thereby creating further R&D synergies, e.g., CFTR’s role in allergic rhinitis and numerous other conditions.
